Our Story

It all began in 1990 when Gary had a vision to start a seafood market while commercial crabbing. On Wednesday, January 2, 1991, Gary’s vision became a reality with the opening of Seafood World.

Alongside his father John, wife Sandra, and their children, Gary worked tirelessly to provide the freshest seafood to Thibodaux and the surrounding areas for the next 6-7 years.

As the business evolved, Gary decided to add a convenience store at the same location. Over time, the convenience store grew, and the seafood market took a back seat.

In 2011, following the passing of his father, Gary chose to step away from the convenience store to spend more time with his family. In 2012, Gary’s son Tracy convinced him to transform the now vacant space into a section dedicated to Cajun cookware, including jambalaya pots, cast iron pots, McWare pots, and replacement propane parts. This addition breathed new life into the business.

Gary passed away in 2021, leaving Tracy to continue the family legacy. Embracing the responsibility, Tracy has maintained the family business and its connection to the community. In 2024, Tracy realized a long-held dream by launching garyscajun.com, an online store dedicated to offering quality Cajun cookware to customers across Louisiana and beyond at reasonable prices.
